J is for Journey!
So this one won’t be a long post, and it won’t have a ton of books on it… and in fact, it is late! However, let me explain why. I promise I have good reasons. 😀
The blog has relocated… no, I don’t mean website wise. I mean, physically, where it is stored, (my tower) took a 6-hour drive.Knowing this drive was coming, I started on Letter I, on Saturday night. I knew it would take me awhile and that I’d be going back and forth with it. I’m still not done and don’t think I ever will be with that post. It will be a continuous project So.. that post also, is a journey.
Anyway, before I start to ramble and completely derail myself. The weather set in, and I couldn’t leave Sunday morning like I’d planned. It was a good thing, though, because a 6-hour drive, in high winds… I don’t think anyone wants to make that. I waited it out until Tuesday and then zipped up to my nieces. Who happens to live in Kansas City. (Yes, yes, yeeeess I will be going to the bookstores here.)
This trip had been planned for a bit, but I didn’t really know how I was going to handle it with the challenge going on. Considering I’ll be here for 2 and a half months, helping my niece, it was a bit daunting. How in the world was I going to manage that? Well, my niece told me to just bring my tower and we’d set everything up. Boy… did they EVER set me up. Check this out!
Not too shabby for a temporary office, is it? I sort of feel spoiled… I have more room up here than I do at my home office. Then my favorite nephew-in-law (He’s the only one I have. 😛 ) decided to split screen with the TV for me. It has been awesome! Loving that. The only problem was? For some reason, the whole internet didn’t work Tuesday night. We were baffled… then my niece randomly asks her hubs the next day, “Did you pay the bill?”. You can laugh now because that is exactly what was wrong. They’d both forgotten.
Okay, before I digress too far with my office loving, let us backtrack to the zipping up to Kansas City. One of my favorite things about heading up this way is the drive. I tend to take a route that goes by Old Highway 71 and US 49. The views are gorgeous because you travel through the Boston Mountains. I’ve included some pictures, but I did not take these! I have taken ones like them, but I refuse to use my phone and drive. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
If you ever get a chance to make the drive, the old scenic route 71 through the Boston Mountains, I would fully encourage it. Highly recommend it too. It is hands down one of the most beautiful drives I’ve seen in the US… and I’ve been all over this country.
So, you may be wondering…. why J for Journey. Well, Journey in a lot of things. The blog moved, the drive up here, the fact that I’m about to help my niece pack up her whole house. Oh, and that she’s also seven months pregnant with my second great niece!! Life itself is a journey. 😀 I know I read a lot, and I blog about books, which takes up most of my time. However, this letter and the trip… it’s a reminder to LOOK UP!
