Posers gonna pose

I am a man who had nothing, but found everything.
I’ll never go back to nothing ever again.
I vowed to protect her, and that’s exactly what I’m gonna do.
The pictures I stumbled upon haunt me still, the secret I shoulder is heavy.
They say secrets put distance between two people, but the truth is far more destructive than keeping it will ever be.
I won’t ever tell. She can’t ever know.
When I look in the mirror my reflection is of who I’m afraid I’ll become and not the man I am.
It makes me feel like a poser, no better than all the others pretending to be exactly who they aren’t.
How does a man keep it together when everything is unraveling right here in his hands?
I didn’t start any of this.
I never asked for it.
But it came knocking at my door.
When secrets and threats knock, I don’t hide.
I open the door.
Because the best way to take down a poser is to be one.

★ MY REVIEW &#9733

It’s goin’ down in Alpha-Town, y’all! Holy smokes, THIS BOOK! I loved it from front to back. #Poser is another great addition to the Hashtag series, that’s for sure and massive kudos to Miss Cambria. I got this book roughly at 11:40 something on the 17th, and I had it devoured by 6 AM this morning (August 18th). I didn’t put it down for longer than a five minute span. It is that good.

If you are new to the series and this book interests you, well let me just state up front. Go back and start at #Nerd. You’ll be happy that you did. #Poser is not a stand alone novel, you’ll want to have at least read #Selfie before touching it. I’m completely torn with #Poser, even with everything in it, there is not a single thing I disliked and it might actually be my favorite book in the series so far. I’ve loved every single one, so that’s difficult to state.

In #Poser you see tremendous character development for both Ivy and Braeden. You see the world of Alpha U going on around them. You delve into things that aren’t exactly fun, but they make you understand the characters and their complexities so much more. The whole crew is there and you even get a new face introduced! The BuzzBoss is still at large and what may shock the heck out of you? #ZachIsBack! Yes, I just said Zach.

broodingBSo, focusing on Ivy and B? Their relationship just makes me exhale a huge sigh of happiness. Everything is still there between them, but so much more. You’d think with a love like they have, and how it started out (Because they supposedly did not like each other what-so-ever.), that it would simmer a bit after the initial kaboom. No, it doesn’t. They grow as individuals and together.

I can’t even fib here, I finished this book, I closed it… and I actually sobbed my heart out. Immersive reading is what Cambria does with these books. You go through all the emotions that the characters do and you really do feel them.

PoserTeaserObviously this is another five star book for me! I’m sure I’ve missed things I wanted to mentioned, I have one heck of a book hangover going right now though, so I don’t trust myself not to toss out spoilers. If you’ve never picked up a Cambria Hebert book, or a Hashtag book, be prepared to be sucked into the madness that is Alpha U!

5 star
