I’ve been nominated for the Sunshine Blogger award by Miss Liv over @ Liv’s Little Library. Liv is new to our blogging community and what she doesn’t realize is that I’m nominating her for the Liebster award in regard. 😉 Yup, I went there and did that!
The rules for the Sunshine Blogger Award are as follows:
– Thank the person/people who nominated you
– Answer the questions from your nominators.
Nominate eleven other bloggers and give them eleven questions.– Typically, this would be eleven and eleven, but I’m still working on the eleven nominations from getting the Liebster award. So, I’m going to nominate FIVE other bloggers myself, and stick with the eleven questions. (You can choose to go back to eleven and eleven, if you’d like.)
Below are my answers to Liv’s questions:
1) Favourite book?
A. Believe it or not, I do not have a favorite book. I have probably a bookshelf of favorite books. Off the very top of my head, I’ll throw out The Witch of Blackbird Pond. A book I’ve not read in years, since I was roughly 15 or 16, and I’d read it countless times. I can still remember details about it 15 years later.
2) Best sandwich filling?
A. Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato with avocado. Nothing else!
3) Do you have a coping mechanism for stressful situations?
A. Buti. I’m sure some of you are scratching your head at that, but I urge you to do a google search on it. (Or just click on the picture!) Buti is a fusion of yoga, tribal dance and plyometrics. Nothing de-stresses me like getting in the zone and twisting myself up like a pretzel.
4) Favourite fast food restaurant?
A. This may come as a shocking surprise because who doesn’t have a favorite fast food restaurant. Well… I don’t have one. I live way too far out in the boonies, middle of nowhere, etc, to run to town to eat out. (I’m talking 26 miles out of town.) When I do go to town though, and if I eat in town, it’s typically not fast food. It’s something sit down, for instance, Red Lobster, Olive Garden… but still no favorite.
5) What is your favourite past time?
A. I tend to have more than one of these, obviously books is the biggest one. The second in line to that is cooking! I love finding new recipes. These days it’s also blogging, or finding blog content. I’ve been considering starting a side blog or two.
6) If you could breed any two animals together, what would they be?
A. I can’t say I’ve ever considered this one, but if I had to breed animals, I’d want to end up with something mythical. Possibly Pegasus? So, a horse and.. some sort of big winged bird.
7) What is your favourite thing to eat for breakfast?
A. I don’t eat breakfast, so I’m just going to say a smoothie, or coffee… or when I make random chocolate cherry coffee smoothies.
8) What is the weather like where you are at the moment?
A. Blistering hot. Don’t go outside barefoot, don’t even let your animals go outside without something on their paws. It’s August, which means it’s the end of Summer, and we are having over 110 degree days with at the very lest 50% humidity. Heat index said 115 the other day. 😦 I’m ready for Fall, especially with the A/C freezing up like it has been doing. I feel like I live in a sauna.
9) What is the last thing you ate?
A. An Andes Mint. 😛
10) Favourite colour?
A. Cobalt. If you don’t know what it is, it’s “Pepsi” blue, or it’s this.
11) Do you have any pets? If so, what are they?
A. I have three pets. Two cats and one dog. One of the cats is my mother’s, the other cat and dog are mine. We lucked out though, because all of them are extremely loveable.
Salem is a black male cat that we rescued. My dad brought him home after he’d found him abandoned at a road side park. Someone thought it’d be a great idea to wrap the poor guy up in duct-tape and hanger wire, and throw him in the dumpster. I’ve had him for almost 10 years now. He has residual trauma and is scared of most people to this day, he also thinks he’s always starving regardless that he has a food buffet bigger than something you’d find in a restaurant. He begs for food worse than I’ve ever seen any animal in my life do so. He’s huge, which you can’t tell from the photo but I mean muscular, and just big, most people say he looks like a mini panther the way he slinks around.
Tango, is my little Foxy Mango (My older sister says that’s his stripper name. I can’t not laugh.). I promise you, that’s a dog, not a fox. He’s a weird mix of chihuahua, dachshund, and terrier. He also likes to stay up at 2 am and play, which is what he’s wanting in that photo. I’ve had him since he was 5 weeks old, due to his owner wanting to get rid of him as fast as possible. The comical joke around here is that I paid two tacos for him, and to be honest, I did. I’d been taking the taco’s to his owner, and that’s how he ended up with me. He’s just almost 2 and a half years old at this point, and still is a hyper puppy more often than not.
Cow, yes, that is the other cat’s name… 😀 It didn’t start out that way, but she looks like a little dainty dairy cow. I don’t have a picture of her to add and I don’t want to go bother her to get one. She’s almost 20 years old, so translate that to cat years and ask yourself if you’re almost 140, do you want a camera in your face with a flash? 😉 Oh, originally, her name was Honey.
