★ SYNOPSIS ★
As the captain of the Chicago Aces, Marc Dupuis is all business. The apartment he shares with his teammate and best friend, Duncan, is a refuge from the pressures of fame. But when the sexiest woman he’s ever seen interrupts his early morning coffee wearing only a skimpy cami and matching panties, Marc can’t exactly say he minds. Their chemistry is off the charts. Unfortunately, this girl’s no random puck bunny. She’s Duncan’s little sister—and she’s moving in.
Lovey Armstrong could stare at Marc’s chiseled abs and listen to his French-Canadian accent all day. She just has no idea what’s going on inside his head: When he’s not charming her pants off, Marc makes a Zamboni machine seem warm and cuddly. Lovey knows the team’s bro code says no messing with sisters, but all these mixed messages are hard on a girl’s self-esteem—especially since she’s finally getting her new life together in Chicago. She decides he’s worth another shot . . . because if anyone can melt the ice around Marc’s heart, it’s Lovey.

★ MY REVIEW ★
“She hadn’t planned on living with a hot hockey player with a body that could turn a girl to a puddle of lust… but this was going to be fun!” – Lovey, Major Misconduct by Kelly Jamieson
I was so excited for this book, that I practically jumped up and down when I got an ARC to review for it. Oh… who am I kidding? I -did- jump up and down. Major Misconduct is the beginning of a new series by the talented Ms. Kelly Jamieson. Do I sound bias? I may be, just a little bit. 😀 I’ve never read a book by this woman that I haven’t loved. That being said though, it means I also hold her books to a higher standard for myself and let me just say, she didn’t disappoint me!
Lovey doesn’t seem to have her life together, and if you ask her big brother Duncan, he’d tell you that “What Lovey wants, Lovey gets.”. She comes off flighty and spoiled at first, but you come to find out there is so much more to this woman. She has a big heart, she loves her big brother to pieces but she’s always been in his shadow. She wants to do something with her life, something she enjoys and she’s finally decided it’s time to do it. Now to just convince everyone else that she can. So she packs up and arrives on her Duncan’s doorstep… only to meet his Aces teammate, and Captain of the Aces, Marc Dupuis.
“The guy standing across the room wore a pair of boxer shorts and nothing else. Sweet cheese-its, he was hot.” – Lovey, Major Misconduct by Kelly Jamieson
Marc is the incredibly dependable guy that everyone relies on. He’s the Aces team captain and he takes that seriously. Always the first on and off the ice, always the one making sure the other players are where they need to be. He didn’t know his world was about to be set on it’s head when he woke up one morning to stumble sleepily into his living room. His roommate had a guest, who just happens to be his younger sister. Then he finds out she’s moving in…
“He couldn’t get out of there before she’d jumped up and rushed at him with a fucking dazzling smile, so damned gorgeous he couldn’t get his feet to move and could barely string two words together.” – Marc, Major Misconduct by Kelly Jamieson
There is instant attraction between these two, a major case of lust but Marc’s not going to fool around with his team mates baby sister. The Aces even have rules about that! He fights it tooth and nail, all while Lovey isn’t fighting it at all but instead flaunts herself in front of him. What makes it worse, she doesn’t realize she’s doing it, or how much she’s tempting him.
“He was Captain Codger. He had no issues with self-control, self-discipline or being responsible. He could easily ignore a hot babe living in the apartment with them. No problem. No problem at all.” – Marc, Major Misconduct by Kelly Jamieson
Or so he thinks…
I loved everything about this book, from the characters, the story, the banter within it. For me it was a perfect mesh of everything that makes a good romance. Oh and did I mention the slight amount of angst? Not so much that you want to bash someone with your Kindle, or book, or any implement of choice, but just the right amount. I am excited and more than ready for the rest of this series. I’m not big on sports romances myself, or even hockey, but Kelly Jamieson and this series is changing my mind. If you love a good sports romance, I would recommend this one in a heart beat!
