★ MY REVIEW ★
Oh… My… Gosh… Let me just start with this.
Yeah, this book made me use the phrase “He’s such a dick.” I don’t know how many times… However!! Don’t let that dissuade you from reading it. I absolutely loved this book and I’ve basically been sitting on my hands so that I don’t download the second part on my Kindle instantly. I can’t make the statement that I’ve ever read a romance book before (That I know of, at least.), written by a male. After this, I’ll likely pick up any J.D. Hawkins book that I see and fall into it.
I fell in lust with Jax, absolute lust. Sure, he’s a cocky, arrogant ass, and I’m really not sure how he even fits himself through a doorway with an ego his size, but he’s hot. He’s even hot to read about. So his actions, remarks and everything he does just leaves me waiting for more. I thought that at some point, he was going to go to far and make me want to reach out and box his ears but that never happened.
Then you have our heroine, Lizzie. I was delightfully charmed by her. I loved the fact that she didn’t let what was happening to her get her so down in the dumps that she just planted her butt on the couch with a pint of B&J and called it quits. Sure, she thought about it, but it never actually happened. The fact that she goes after Jax, and makes the proposal to him, makes me love her all the more.
These two have sparks and chemistry from the get go. It is absolute lust, there is no doubt about that. I can’t even express how well this is written in the regard that you slowly see it starting to become love, and because you see a lot of it on Jax’s part it makes for a different read for me. I pretty much road the edge of my seat for some of this book. Eagerly anticipating what was going to happen next. You see Jax start to soften, but you also see Lizzie start to change from his tutelage. Maybe he’s taught her a bit -too- well? The ending threw me for a complete loop and I sat here going, “Excuse me, what!?”, “Are you serious right now!?”.
All I know is, I’m ready to read the next part and see what happens.
I guess I can download the next book now! 😀
