It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt. Then it’s business as usual.

I screwed up, but I can fix this.

This can’t be fixed.

Part two of a three book serial about a bad-ass alpha male and the curvy woman he can’t give up.

This book has been taken from a 3 part and made into a full novel. You can find the book link under the first parts review.

Let me start off by saying, I feel like I have massive whiplash from this book. The ending. Oh my gosh, the ending. It’s another cliffhanger, so just prepare yourself to read the third book. While.. I’m still sitting over here, trying to gather my thoughts so I can give a decent review going… and this is all I can think.

Let me backtrack a bit. This is the 2nd book in the Hate F*@K series. Short, sweet, I’m not sure if I love it or hate it, but it sure blows my mind every single time so that I’m wanting the next book.

If you haven’t read my review for book one, I would go back and read it before reading this one. Cole and Hailey have massive chemistry, and more than that too. He won’t be the bad guy with her, and she tries to keep seeing him as that. His persona that he shows the world and who he is with everyone else, just isn’t who he is with her.

“I’m not even sure she likes me, unless I’m naked in her bed, and she still wins. She’ll always win, because the only thing I’ve truly believed in in years, is her goddamn earnestness. Her righteous indignation over the shades of gray that rule my world and how she doesn’t hesitate to tell me I’m full of shit.”

These two miss-communicate SO much, to the point where I want to box Hailey’s ears and be like, ‘Guuuurl, calm your tits.” because it’s mostly on her end. She tends to make assumptions when it comes to Cole and given his job, he can’t completely correct her or explain. He’s in love with her, he’s slowly realizing it. In Hailey’s shoes, it actually make sense sometimes that she makes assumptions. She has nothing else to go on and he’s -scared- to lose her.

“Cole has all the power. All the knowledge and control. He could destroy me.”

They finally calm down, come to an understanding. There really is a thin line between love and hate. They start putting each other first.. and what happens? BOOM, you’ve got another cliffhanger ending. One you never saw coming, or at least, I didn’t.

I gave this book a solid three star rating. There are few things in this that drive me nuts. Mainly Hailey and the assumptions, with the blowing things hugely out of proportion. It was too much for me in that regard. The whiplash of the back and forth. The story sort of drug out for me in places, although it was things you do need to know, to have things make sense. That being said. I’d still recommend the books! I know the shock value is worth. 😉
